Great job on the Mazda! I hadn't been around the Portal in a while, so it was good to check back into this thread to see you got the swap done successfully. Nice work!

Good to hear. I really loved my little '87 B2000.

    Default Holy S^*t, I love this B2600i

I just came across this thread and am I ever disappointed in myself, but incredibly impressed by you & your truck. I bought an 86 B2000 2WD in high school & then a 93 B2600i 4WD years later, exactly like yours (color, wheels, king cab) but with a gray interior. I loved both trucks & always said someday I would just figure out to get more power into the 2600 & keep it forever. Well time moves on & the engine went at around 150K & I sold it for a few a hundred bucks because my parents wanted it out of there driveway (wasn't living there & had bought a Honda for my 80 mile roundtrip commute). Anyway, it whould have been the perfect donor for a diesel as everything but the engine was in great shape. Man am I ever mad at myself. While I got rid of it ten years ago, now I want it back more than ever after reading this. Keep up the good work.

Very nice Mazda brother, I had a b2600i myself when I was 16. Had to get rid of it before I even got my license because the frame was rotted out big time. I screwed up and didn't see it bc I was so hard-headed, wanted a 4wd so bad an I had exactly the 1600 bucks they wanted. I love your truck, small diesel powered pick-ups are perfect for those camping/expedition trips. I built my 92 Comanche for the same reason you did. I just picked up an '86 Comanche with a blown gasser, and plan on putting the OM617 like your buddy in his TJ, already got the NV3550 tranny for it, just gotta find a low mileage Mercedes donor. Does he have a thread somewhere for that TJ/OM617 swap?
Again, props on your truck, and hopefully you find that OME suspension for it.
    Cheers

Thanks! They really are great trucks.
My buddies TJ project is sitting waiting for its turn at the shop. Has to get his LT1 powered Jag out of the way first.
