I remember the throbbing head the day after, but I didn't know that place was called Tuzgle...

This is what we drank.... remember... BTW did you buy that engine you were talking about?

Ahhh yes. high altitude hang over...

Tuzgle is the name of the climbing area there. Derived from Cerro Tuzgle that is close by.

Never got the motor. Are you considering a swap? problems?
But I did just by an Ambulance body for the 110, we planning for the next trip! :wings:

I looked at your latest Brazil photos, beautiful.

Hahaha. No, never considering a swap, and the problems are always there, but small and solvable. Need to fix the radiator, but are to stingy to buy a new one in Brazil because it's so expensive here due to the taxing. Hope to get a new one cheaply in Bolivia.. :)

Hope to see you on the road in your new LambuRover ...

Diamonds, gold, Indians, telegraph lines, President Roosevelt and Christianity. What do they have in common? Well, all played all a big part in the history of Mato Grosso. And furthermore, discover the new adventure destinations of Tangará da Serra.
All that and more in our latest logbook story.

We survived the rain and mud trough the Amazone region of Bolivia. We are now in La Paz, Toyota heaven. Finding all the parts we need to do the basic maintenance and maybe even a new radiator.

Two new stories about Brazil on our website, and some more images on our Facebook fanpage.

I'm making 50 hours a week with shopping for parts on Saturday in San Pedro's car shops and on Sunday at 'La Feria' in El Alto where you can wonder around millions of used car parts and aftermarket stuff. Apart from that I have become a professional mountain climber. Doing ten blocks four times a day up and down the hilly streets at 4.000 meters carrying my tools is no mean feat as a say so myself.

Looked what rolled in the tyre shop last week. Kept me thinking I want a spare wheel carrier like that as well. Makes room under the car for an extra tank in the future.

The best 'Tornero' in La Paz, has made a new plastic fitting for the ball joint of our windshield wiper arm.

As we have seen before, the wheel wells are totally gone. Some enthousiast has started welding some metal sheet, but we will first look in the streets for some donor wells.

Esteban already cut some parts out here on the right side.

The side panels can be salvaged with only some minor holes on the sides.

Finally I got the spagetti wires out. Labeled everything as good as I could. Hope I can fit everything in the right place again in a few weeks.

Now it is starting to look more and more like a rally oldtimer.

The fenders have gone, and the grill is tilted forward. The dismantling has started in ernest now.
