    Default Trunk Radio Systems

    Can any of you guys explain to me more on what Trunk Radio Systems are designed for?

    Who uses them?

    I understand the concept, but have yet to find some good info on it...

    Mostly commercial systems that need to share a lot of communication, like fire, police, city and municipal use. It involves digital signalling of what freqeuency to use during that one TX or RX. As most the time the air is free of TXs, why not employ those ``down times'' just like context switched computer operating systems. Found some good info here:
