LED Work light question:

Hi folks, I recently picked up one of these LED Work lights. http://www.adventuretrailers.com/images/worklight/worklight4.jpg and it came with just a short two wire lead. I am planning on mouting it on the bedrail of my truck/passenger side, close to the tailgate. My question is, what is the best way to mount this? I would actually like a on/off switch close to the light, for camp use, and also perhaps inside the cab for backing purposes. I am not an electrical guy so it would be great to gather any advice.

In order to use two switchs to light one bulb you will need the following

2 off two pole switchs( these usually have 3 connections)

run from the fused Positive you wish to use to the center tap of the switch in the cab
connect both other poles of the switch to a dual core cable

Run the cable to the work light local switch

connect both the cable cores to the outer poles
connect the center pole to the light positive wire.

Connect the negative of the light to the body or chasis for earth.

You can now switch from either the cab of the rear to light or turn off the bulb

Solder and heat shrink sleeve all connections

I'm presuming this answers your question ?

if not try again !

Here is a link for typ. 3-way switching> http://www.electrical-online.com/3wayvariation2.htm , you'll find a diagram on how to hook it up just like what UK4x4 have described. This one is for an AC application though, but similar, on yours the neutral will be the minus (ground) and hot will be your plus. Solder and shrink tubing are best especially when exposed to the elements. An inline fuse helps too as well.
