New South Wales High Country Day Trip

On saturday we did a day trip to Blue Waterholes in the NSW High Country, 1500mtrs above sea level was the highest we got (it doesn't get much higher here) all this country was used for cattle and mining from the 1800s it was recently devistated by bushfires and only now are the animals slowly returning, the wild horses are back but most of the native wildlife still hasn't returned.
We were mainly looking for future campsites, and places to explore, as lovely as Blue waterholes was it was a bit cramped and over populated with backpackers and bushwalkers, but along the way we stopped at possibles sites and a bit of history.

Has a film called The Proposition made it down there yet? Intense Australian wild west movie. Well, it's set in Australia anyway. There's barely an Aussie accent to be heard.

Which begs the question: Just how long ago did the archetypal "Australian" accent arise?

Haven't seen it advertised i will keep an eye out for it, as for the accent i don't think alot of people know, film makers included, i reckon it would of emerged in the goldfields where all nationalities mixed from about the 1850s on.

Most of the movies on Bushrangers and convicts normally have Irish accents, with the police and Government officials having Scottish or English or even Northern Irish accents

If you think the aussie accent is heavy and slow on TV or in movies, wait till you go bush and meet the country folk
That's where it takes an hour and half to watch 60 minites
