Battery Brain?

Thinking of throwing one of these on the TJ. I might have a slow drain somewhere so if I let it sit for 2 weeks I get a nice dead battery.

This would provide some good peace of mind in case I did something dumb solo and managed to leave something on overnight in the Jeep that could drain the batter down.

Not sure I'd wire the winch through this setup, or may just put in a 'kill switch' to be used as a bypass if there is a heavy winching even.

Thoughts?

I've used one for a year and a half now. Works great. Shuts off everything if I let the battery run down too much. Plus you can use it as a battery disconnect if you leave town for a while. Then it acts as a theft deterrent and a battery protector.

Late models have ECU memories to keep alive. That is most likely the drain.

I've been using one of these to keep EFI engine batteries topped off:

Yeah, its likely somewhere between the Jeep ECU and AiRock controller (the 1st gen controllers would suck the thing dry in 3 days :( ).

there will be a battery tender added to the mix. My issue tends to be that I'll park the Jeep in the garage expecting to drive it in the next few days then leave it sit for the next 2 weeks and find it dead.

I'd rather deal with a relearning ECU and resetting the AiRock extents then dealing with a dead battery.
