Default Devil's Back Bone... AZ, not dirt... but

The Devil’s Back Bone... 99 miles of sheer delight!

The Devil’s Back Bone will see me again!... there is no doubt... after some conditioning to handle all 99 miles... each way!
It was a blast and hope that you have ridden it... or going to!

It is a very cool ride... start early... take a break in Alpine before heading back or you can even take a different route... to 180... will write about Mogollon also and the must stop "Pie Shop"... which actually ia a Bed and Breakfast... going South...to Sliver City...
    141/159/94/30... all good...
Whish I could leave now the head there!!!
    All in due time!
    Be well... Ara

    G'day Ara.

I don't want to dispute what you have named this road but...

The real Espinoza del Diablo is hwy 40 in Mexico from Durango to Mazatlan.

US 191 from Clifton to Alpine is the old 666, which was the Devils' highway.

    sorry.

You are most likely correct... but it was definitely introduced to me by some local riders as the "Devil's Backbone". Did they want to inflate its sense of danger... or excitement... who knows. It turns out also that there are many "Devil's Backbone" in the U.S.A, including trails and roads! Go figure...

    Be well, Ara
