When I saw this thread I thought Scott had acquired another toy.

    Wonderful truck.

And yes, a very nice truck. Would make a great firewood hauler.
Mine is a basic MOD 110, 3.5 V-8, LHD (it was in Germany) and it has the side lockers.

    Same.

I'm pretty damn sure all MOD 110s and later Wolf Defender 110s have the jerry can compartments.

Damn, these are some nice looking Ex-Mod 110's. Mine has a long way to go before it look that good.

Although it does sport a new roof now.

    JSQ,
    Great looking truck!
Are there any other photos on the web? I'd love to see what's been done to it.

He has a build thread of it on EE (Expedition Exchange). Very good and in depth. I'm sure he'll have a link handy.

I kind of like the 110 with the hard top and no windows.

I kind of dig it too.
It's not my favorite look, but I think for functionality it can't be beat.

Take a look at this Wolf Defender, but try to imagine you're shooting black and white film so the horrible gold pimp paint job isn't there:

If you look at it objectively, that 110 is all business.
All of the bolt-ons are legit and the truck itself is extremely simple. With the full-body hard-top with no windows it's also very secure. My 110 is way low on security. Sometimes that makes me a little anxious. I know if I had a truck like the above the thought wouldn't even cross my mind. Sure, someone could steal my shovel or some sh*t, but oh well.
Plus depending on how you lay it out you might be sleeping inside. I'm not into the RTT, dormobile, trailer, pop-up, winnebago nonsense, but I can appreciate the simplicity of being able to sleep in the truck. With a truck like the above with a divided compartment with a sleeping platform you have no opportunity cost. You're not dragging an anchor behind you or bolting 300lbs to the roof but you have the ease of sleeping inside. That's nice.

Another solid example, albeit in another horrible color scheme, is the ExMOD the www.ihana.com boys drove around the Americas:

Incidentally, that's about the only "overland" travelogue I've ever been able to read end to end. Maybe that's because they did the web travels thing well before it got played or maybe it's their great sense of humor, but it's a good read. It might also be that they had the patience to drive a 2.5NA diesel through eleventeen countries.
