No rust.
This truck has been very well taken care of, and is in excellent mechanical condition.
Within the last year (and 5000 miles) the following has been done:
Timing Belt
Major tune up (spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap, rotor, fuel/air filters, oxygen sensor)
Full brake job including new rotors and pads (4 wheel disc brakes)
All fluids (including coolant, transmission, transfer case, front and rear differentials)
Air Conditioning service with conversion to R134a
Conversion to manual front locking hubs (Aisin)
New shock absorbers
Aisin manual hubs
Alignment
Sylvania Silverstar headlights.
I'm sure there is more. Basically, if it needed to be done, I did it.
The truck runs excellently, does not smoke, burn oil, or leak.
The underside looks splotchy because it was a little rainy and wet when I took the pics.
I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere.
Everything works as it should.
Why fight rust when you can have a great, rust-free truck?
It would take 3k to re-create this truck.
I was preparing it for a drive to Central America, but ended up with another truck that I've decided to take.
It's ready to go!
Notice in the dashboard picture that it has excellent oil pressure at idle.
It has a nice aftermarket CD player.
