Fun time "Overhaulin" a Jeep

Recipe for my '98 TJ: Replace the frame with a brand new one that's for a 70 series Land Cruiser. Same with the drivetrain, diesel engine, body (troopy). Add lockers, sensible suspension, long range fuel tanks, bumpers and modify the interior to add plenty of well designed storage and sleepability. A roof rack for kayaks would be nice, too.

Much as I love my Jeep, I just figured if one is going to rebuild a vehicle bolt-by-bolt one may prefer to end up with a vehicle that's impossible to buy in the USA. An alternative would be a new Land Rover Defender which is also made of unobtanium.

Cheers,
Graham
