    Default Scepter Can color straps?

Anybody have any ideas where I might get re[placement straps for my Specter gas cans?? I would like the red ones...about all I have seen is the yellow, and If I have to, that is what I'll get, but since gas is what I carry, red is more appropriate...maybe even legal...

    Cheers!

    Good luck.

    I suggest painting them.

They were out of stock but expected more when i was looking for a cap. You may need assistance from someone across the border to forward.

I plan to paint my straps as well.

There's usually one or more Canadian eBay sellers listing Scepter gaskets from time to time. Perhaps you might contact one and see if straps are available.

I bounced over to eBay, did a quick search and found a Canadian seller with Scepter deisel gaskets. Shoot him an email. He may have straps or access to straps. Never hurts to ask.

I think the most logical method is to get that plastic-kote dip found at Home improvement and hardware stores (used for adding grip to tools, etc.) which comes in several colors to include yellow and red, and dip the current strap a few times. they won't rub off like paint.

If you do paint, probably need a plastic paint, not rustoleum, which won't bond and will likely rub off once exposed to fuel.

You could try www.scepter.com. I know they will sell directly to consumers up here, they may be willing to ship.

Thanks for the ideas all! But, I can't paint straps that are torn and cracked!! I'll give the Canadians a try to see if there is perhaps a chance at some that way...IF I score some, I will report back!!

    Cheers!

I think the idea was to get the yellow ones and paint/coat them the color you need. It wasn't to use your old ones but please do post up any info as I might want to get a few spares for my cans.

Is it legal for a Canadian ExPo member to re-sell Scepter stuff to an American member, shipping to USA?

A guy could go into business doing that, people are starved for Scepter stuff here... I'm one of them.
