I'm wondering if you have a review on how it held up in some rain? I'm looking for not only shade protection, but also something simple like this to be able to still cook and sit down in possible rain. (Not a terrible storm, mind you)

I have used an NRS parawing for years on canoe trips. well let me say not used since it is a royal PITA to set up imo. The 2 units are similar but I can quarantee the quality is night and day between the 2. Nice once up but takes several hands.

Just about any awning is going to turn into a sail and bust loose if wind gets under it, rain or no rain.

The only awning I have seen work in stormy weather is a large plastic tarp stretched between trees using rope. Poles are nice to keep water from pooling on it. If you have something horizontal to drape a part of it over, you can make a wind break.
