    Default Dopler radar

So I was watching pimp my ride and just before I shot myself in the head on this t-100 they built they installed a doppler radar monitor in the cab. What is the deal and how do you get one?

Probably XM weather displayed on a Garmin GPS. Just a guess. The XM weather service is $99/mo.

Yeah, Chris is probably right. A weather doppler would use about an 8' dish and a couple of hundred kW of radiated power. That would require something more than a T100, thinking more along the lines of a commercial truck like a F650. A 200 kW diesel generator weighs about 2 tons by itself.

No, it wasn't displayed on a GPS. I saw the same, sorry episode (someone posted a link on the T100 forum awhile back). It was indeed a doppler radar screen. Inset on the center console was about an 8" diameter round display with the line going around and everything. The only thing I could think of was it was uploading data from somewhere else. I saw no dish or anything on the rig.

Unfortunately, the link on YouTube was removed.

i agree...personally i wouldnt want to install an emitter like that on my truck any more than i'd want to install an unshielded microwave element on the roof either.

easier to upload from a proper radar anyway.

I'm not big on TV...never even heard of "Pimp My Ride" before...
    ...but that was really funny!

Anybody figure this out? Id sure be interested in figuring this setup out. Im building a custom overhead console for the Pinz and this would make a sweet addition.

That Yota was waaay more bada$$ before. I hate Pimp My Ride.
They should have SASed it, boxed in the rear with sleeping quarters, on board computer, GPS, etc. Slapped a new motor into it, locked it up, give it some new rubber & painted it flat black. That woulda been tits
