    Default Deal or No Deal?

Would you buy a 94 Suburban 2500 4wd with 5.7 for a daily driver/weekend warrior?? It's got about 180k miles, all the normal goodies, runs well, little bit of damage on the driver's rear quarter panel, and interior that is immaculate. Oh yeah, it's $2000.

I'm basically looking for Pro's/Con's from those of you who know the vehicle. Anything to look for issue wise. I drive about 20-30 miles/day, nothing crazy. Any ideas what mileage would be, I've done my research on the 454, but didn't realize they came a 5.7.

    Thanks, this board is awesome!

My work cohort is over 280k on his 96 Truck with original engine and transmission. He is the original owner and meticulous about the maintenance.

If you have full documentation of the maintenance...go for it

Not sure if they are rare where you live, but thats a $900 truck around here. No matter how reliable the gmt400 platform is that is still a very high mileage truck.

Hmm....Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna take another look at it today. See if there are any obvious issues. I'm still thinking. My daily driver now is on it's way out, I think. I'll keep you posted. If it works out, I may do an even swap.

Fwiw I was looking at a decent diesel suburban about 9 months ago for almost the same price. It was a 93 if I remember right.

Thanks for the input...I passed on it. But I'm still looking. I'd much rather have a diesel! especially for the same price.

That was in aspen, co and it was a 6.5l that had been recently rebuilt. I never much liked our suburban work truck(with the 454 I think) and so I passed on it.

You may have better luck in different regions finding a diesel.
