arb is shipping out a new bumper, it's always nice not to fight with company's to get hings right. They were very helpful in resolving this, even more so was Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters whom I ordered it from top notch dude:victory:
BTW bumper was dropped shipped from ARB not from cruiser outfitters, just so theirs no confusion:)

well the holidays are done with and the 80 is back from the body shop so I started getting to work on it.

pulled apart the rear end and got the 4.88's installed, new gears, pinion/carrier bearings, solid spacer and Slee diff lock actuator guard. Good lord this differential is heavy.

next up was the hubs new bearings and seals and of course some new paint was in order

The studs were chased with a die to get out any crud and anti seize was applied for corrosion prevention and ease of any later maintenance

I use Sill Glyde on all the rubber seals, this stuff rocks
P1030100_800x600.jpg

DBA rotors were then installed

Started on the front axle today pulled it all apart and worked on it for 15 hours. The axle was a complete mess i had to scrape off about 1/4 of an inch of frozen crud off the knuckles and axle :Wow1:

once I got the parts cleaned up I focused on pulling the lower 4 knuckle studs out to replace them with the updated studs. during heavy off-roading the lower 4 studs like to work them selves loose so I took it upon my self to fix the problem.

First I pull the old studs out then I run a tap of the same size pitch threw all 4. I run the tap all the way threw to get rid of any old grease the proses is repeated three times each time soaking the tap in acetone to completely clean the threads of any grease.

once the threds are cleaned I put 271 red lock tite on the studs and screw them in and tourque to about 3-5 ft-lb's and let it sit over night, this will ensure the studs never back out. disclaimer...you will have to heat these up with a torch to get them out if you ever have to replace a stud.

owner wanted to see how the suspension handled how about a 2' tall ramp of packed ice...

The neighbors must love you

That was cool, but i dont think i'd try it more than once. One slip sideways and your into the wall. That would suck. Don't you have any open fields near your house?
