I'm having a bit of an issue with getting the lever for the planetary on my Warn XD9000 into a position that is accessible from the top of my TJM T15 bumper. I've clocked my winch, but it doesn't line up straight.
On one clock setting, the grill of the truck prevents the lever from going where it needs to go. On the other potential setting, the access hole in the bumper seems to be a bit too short (front to back). It looks like I'll need to do a small cut to the bumper to get the lever to function, but it appears that the lever may still run into the bumper a bit. What about spacers on the back side of the bumper?... I wonder if that might work.
Surely there are a few folks here who have run into this issue, and I don't really want to make a cut in the bumper unless I know that it's going to work- I'm sure you can understand.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and if you have a picture to help explain what yours looks like, that would be great! I'd like to make this work sooner rather than later, as I ran into the issue of needing to winch today, and had to get a bit muddy in the process by getting low and reaching up under the bumper to have to move the planetary lever. Here in the NW, a lot of winching is due to mud, and getting ones clothes and interior all muddy is no fun.
I did a search for this problem, but didn't come up with anything that addressed it all that well. If it's been covered before, please feel free to simply link to it instead of starting the whole thing over again in this thread.
