Safari snorkel - upkeep

What do you guys do to make sure that piece of black plastic lasts and looks good?

Do you treat it with anything special?

Are there any manufacturer's recommendations with regards to upkeep? :)

Mine still looks pretty good after 5 years but I'd hate to whack it with a hammer to see if it is brittle.

IIRC the material includes UV protectants. I suspect routine PMCS is just limited to soap and water.

I just wash mine when I wash the rig, and I will occasionally put some 303 spray on it which also contain UV inhibitors in it.

Other than that, mine looks as good as the day it was put on a few years ago.

I make sure to park my rig in the garage to avoid UV exposure. I never take it where it will get dirt or water on it. :sombrero:

The only thing we used to do when we had a Pajero with a Safari snorkel was wash it and retension the mounting hardware, found a couple of loose bolts a couple of times.
