clark what ya runnin for wiring? a thinner guage will act like your describing. so will a less than adequate ground. i run 10g, arent you runnin 10g also corey?
We used 18, but I think I am going to upgrade it this spring to 10 gauge.
A friend of mine helped with the project.
I do have 6 gauge though from the battery to the BlueSea box which the 18 gauge wire goes to from the twin outlets.
He used the same gauge wire for his exact same project.

Corey,

Thank you as well for the info on your stock battery, I did not think my battery should go dead so quickly, you just confirmed this for me.

I apoligize for being off topic and did not mean to Hi-Jack the thread.
You are welcome.
I would do a wiring project like outlined in my link above.
Pretty easy to do, and mine are "live" full time.
The CB is also wired into it, and eventually my ham radio will be too, or I may wire it directly to the aux. battery.

no prob clark. i think if you simply replace the factory wiring to the back plug you'll be golden running on that circuit.

corey my 10g is from the batt all the way to the fridge, i dont run a fuse panel and a short pigtail like you did and i dont think changin your pigtail will amount to much over your 5 day run time.

mine was quick and dirty getting ready for a trip,, but i plan to run something more like corey's when i get a round tuit.

So you think it is OK to stick with the 10' or so of 18 gauge wire from the two outlets up to the aux fusebox in the passenger foot well?
If so, I will leave it be.

ohh i see, i thought your fuse box was in the rear under that panel you have the 12v plugs in and the 18g wire was just a couple ft pigtail to the fridge. maybe its worth a change, but since your fridge will run for 5 days w/o starting the rig i dont think its a problem.

Yeah, aux box is up in the foot well with a 6 gauge wire to the stock battery.
Probably 6' long at the most.

Then from the aux box to the rear, it is all 18 gauge wire.
Fridge runs great and the light in the tent is plugged in there too, so I will probably not mess with it.

Coleman Powerchill Thermoelectric Iceless Cooler

Anybody ever use or have one of these? its a 40qt 12v cooler that can be upright or as a chest.

Now I know this isn't an ARB or Engel. I was just looking for something small that can keep milk from going bad and a few drinks cold while camping or medium range trips.

If I was going around the world I would get one of the models listed above but what about for the weekend warrior? Would this coleman work or is it junk??

It says that it can keep items cold to 40°F below surrounding temperature and its made in the USA. Anyway, just looking for a heads up, any comments appreciated.

I bought one of these this summer for many of the same reasons you point out. Actually, a big part of the reason was because a cooler that can stand up instead of having to lay down would work better for me. I decided to give this a shot.

I put it in my basement, plugged in to 120V for a few days, and it got the drinks just adequately cold, but did not freeze them. However, my basement is relatively cool, so I could see that on a warm summer day, forget about keeping anything perishable in it. So I returned it.
