    Default 07 Tacoma & 02 Flip-pac

    Howdy all...

I have an 07 Tacoma, a new (to me) 02 Flip-pac, and I'm looking for mounting idea. When mounting camper tops in the past I've always drilled through fiberglass and the old style beds and secured with stainless bolts. The new Tacoma's come with modular bed rails. Does anyone have any recommendations for mounting to these Tacoma bed rails.

    Thanks for the help.

Have you tested the fit of your flip-pac on your Tacoma? Toyota changed bed sizes (why?????) between 2004 and 2005 model years by a couple of inches. If the flip-pac was for a 2002 tacoma you may need to do a little creative fitting.

Yes; I tried it last night before buying it and it fits pretty well.

Martyn and Mario over at Adventure Trailers could probably lend some suggestions on this one. Maybe shoot them an email @ adventuretrailers.com

if you take the plastic bed rails off, undernieth there are holes in quite a few differnt spots on both sides of the bed. i don't know if this will let the top sit to low or not but may be an option for you.

Thanks everyone...I did talk to Martyn and he is going to get back to me with something they make custom at his shop. I also found this method in the forum which seems quite feasable too.

I don't know if I would risk it... even if it's a perfect fit for your truck it's probably not a good idea to put the flip-pac on your 07 tacoma if it was designed for the 2002 tacoma. What if it caused you to have a rollover on the freeway doing 80mph?

I think if I were you I would just play it safe and give it to someone with a 2002 Toyota Tacoma ex. cab 4x4 TRD, OME/Bil lift, 4Crawler 1" BL, 33x10.50s, demello bolt-on sliders, scion head unit w/ipod cable, ScanGauge II, with 60,500 miles.

I have an '09 and my Flip Pac was installed by the factory in Long Beach. They drilled through the camper shell rail, the bed rail and through the steel rail used for the cargo hold downs. So far it's been pretty sturdy.

    Default Flippac

Would like to see photos of the fit. I have a 2002 but want a 4wd since mine is a pre runner and I'm thinking new. I know about the size difference but wanted to see what the real difference is.
