Wow,just discovered this website. A 65 page discussion on LandRover portals with great tech and some brilliant photos. I am presently a little sentimentally biased, but the best photo of the lot was the one on page 4 with my daughter sitting on the front wheel and my dear late wife in the drivers seat of my old portalled series 2a. Definately got the tearducts flowing again.
Great work Robert. You truly are 'living the dream', although as you say, you've worked hard for it, and there's a lot of hard work behind the scenes that a one dimensional character such a I would not have the energy and drive that you have in spades.

    Default Thank you!

Just brilliant Robert! Thanks so much for all of this. I really hope this thread continues. You've created a very good effect on a lot of people here. You seem like the sort who does that wherever you go. Your stories & photos are incredible and your sincere explanations of even the technical aspects of what you've done on your 130 has been great to read and follow along with. So thanks again for this great peek into your world. Funny how Landies can spark such good crack!

If you make it to Los Angeles you've got a tour of my foundry and good meal for the asking.

    Godspeed,

    Josh

Great thread, ive read it a few times, looked at your website and watched the video for the double motor winch.

Any updates on the portals? How are they holding up, any issues, maintanence interval..etc?

    Thanks.

YEAH!!! We are back on the road!

It was a lot of work in the past months and I guess only my roll cage and the portals where undamaged after the Africa Eco Race 2012.

I am test driving now and will be at a raallye this weekend.
Sunday I will start a recap of the past months.

Thereīs a lot to tell and write and thereīre a lot of people to thank for their assistance and support.

    So long,

    Robert
