    Default roof top tent owners

my expo rig is also my semi daily driver. The roof top tent is killing me on gas, i am getting around 10., i was getting around 18. Is there a trick with an air dam? securing it to the yakima load bars was more than a pita.

so i guess my questions are these,

do you remove it between trips? have you built?

if so what kind of quick release system

do you use any kind of air dam setup?

RTT's cam be such a drag

I remove mine after every outing. My Mombasa came with 4 quick release pins so it comes off pretty quick.

For mounting I made a stand (in bed of pickup) that sits on the bed rails secured with 4 bolts. With two people I can remove the tent and the stand and place them both in my garage in under 5 minutes.

    Hope this helps

I remove mine after every use as well. For me the better gas mileage is worth the extra effort.
