BTW, I've been on a bit of a hunt lately for an '85 RA64 Celica GT for daily drive/rallycross duties, I may have some questions for you once I find what I'm looking for

Fun choice for sure. I ran a rallycross few months ago, second one I've done in the Celica. It's a ton of fun, but the peg leg drive could definetly be improved on. Weir Perf. sells parts for the stock 6.7" axle. I might be on the search for another one someday, to build as a rally car. It's tough with the low roof line though, to get a race seat low enough.

Big update of sorts. I got all except for the panhard bar bracket welded onto the axle housing. I still have to design and build that bracket. But all the Ballistic Fab brackets I had custom made worked out amazingly well. I should have the axle done and into the car by the end of this weekend, I'm hoping anyways. Then comes the interesting part, having a custom driveshaft built. I'm trying to decided, stick with the two piece set-up, which gives me a bit more ground clearance, or convert it to a one piece shaft, which simplifies things a bit, but might take a rock hit or two when trail driving..?

The last bit of fabrication done, the Uber strong panhard bar mount...
Next comes the final assembly, final de-greasing and a fresh coat of matte black paint before bolting it into the car. Then I can get it to the driveshaft shop, see about having a 1 piece shaft built.

No pictures, but I got the axle reassembled last night. Ran the wire wheel cup on my angle grinder across the top of my knee, then dropped the 3rd member on my lower leg. No pain, no gain! Anyways, now that it's all sealed back up, I can finish cleaning the housing and then shoot a couple coats of satin black on the whole thing before bolting it into the car.

And a fresh coat of OEM style satin black to make it look like Toyota might just have made the axle this way, just for me...

Yes, an '87 Vanwagon. The key for me was same four lug bolt pattern and same approximate width as the last axle. The bonus was getting bigger brakes, to help fix the mis-balance of the brake system currently.
