Are the wolf boxes better made than the action packers? I wouldn't mind something that is in between a pelican and the action packers.

I have 4 wolf packs so from my perspective in some sense they are the South African version of our action packers ?

wolf packs would be closer to action packers than they are to pelican
the pelican are way tougher etc.. but also way more money and weight etc....

so for me I think I would pick wolf packs over action packers for storage of items that are going inside my rig/trailer

the wolf packs have great stacking and great use of space
the lids can be a bit funny to learn to take off since their are 4 latches on them but once learned not to bad

I think I would pick wolf packs over pelican to save weight and get great stack ability
if security and super toughness was my concern I would pick pelican(storm) cases

so if you had a combination of wolf packs and pelicans you could be set in my eyes


I really wish you could get wolf packs with a hinged lid on one side so the tops would not be loose

so if I was packing my rig up and I had 3 piles of packing solutions
action packers - pelican - wolf packs

I would pack my rig using wolf packs and pelican boxes and not bother with the action packers

I do have a action packer I throw junk in that is in my trailer so I have used all 3 but at the time nobody was bringing in the wolf packs ?
also the action packer fits the space just right so it works

I have a conqueror conquest and have 4 wolf boxes in the slides, two mounted in the rear above the Engel and two stacked in the nose cone.

I would love to know about:

1) additional clips
2) any foam inserts of any type
3) additional boxes (price) and the Howling Moon Canvas Cover for same! (price)

Love these boxes. On the four we get in and out of the most, we are putting luggage straps with snap clips. (no clips at all).

I'm also interested in their line of covers, to include the utensils, spice rack and cutlery rolls. I can see my easy kitchen setup, with one wolfback for all the rolls. They can all hang off my external roll bar too!

I think I am flushing the chuckbox idea now. Perfect timing for this product line to show up!

I also like the size of the wolfboxes. Much easier to load/unload off a roof rack, thank some of the larger sized boxes.

Sorry to have missed you at the show. We were very pleased with the response to Howling Moon, and even more pleased that their reputation for quality preceded us! They really do make the best tents out there. Maybe it's the fact that they've been doing it for 30 years!
I'd be happy to share info on our gear:
1) We'll be maintaining a quantity of replacement clips. They're the regular plastic ones, but we're also having a look at them being made in spring steel. They'll last longer, will easily replace the plastic ones, and they'll be better in colder climates.
2)The inserts we have are high density foam with precision cutouts to accommodate plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. You can stack 2 on top of each other in 1 box, and just remove them as if in a drawer. They'll stop all your stuff from rattling, and also keep them water-and dust-free.
3)We've currently got the lo-lid boxes priced at $40 each, and the hi-lid at $45. Inserts are $20 a piece. Covers are 465 for the "2-up" and $80 for the "3-up". The covers are made of the same fabric as all the tents we're bringing in; military spec poly-cotton ripstop. UV stabilized, mildew treated and waterproofed.
We're trying to keep the prices down, but as always is dependent on exchange rates and getting them in a container.
