Default Roof rack for roof top tent or ?

Thanks for all the interest in the tent. It sold to a local (southern Cal) who looks like they will put it to good use on there Land Cruiser (that is already pretty expedition ready!)

They had a hannibal full roof top rack, and didn't need the rack that I had it mounted on.

    RACK $50
If there is anyone else out there that tries to put as little weight up high as possible and wants a simple rack to mount a tent or whatever else you might want to put up there, I have the rack. It fits a land rover discovery. It would fit over the front or back section of the roof. It has rails that run the length of the rack that sit in the rain gutter and distribute any weight on the rack. The rails clamp to the rain gutter in 2 places on each side. The rack is made of marine grade aluminum 6063.
Here are some dimensions of the rack:
    - Width from rail to rail 58"
    - Width of cross bars 52"
    - Height below cross bars to line drawn from rail to rail 10 1/2 "
    - Cross bar section shape width x height 2" x 1"
    - Rail length 43"
    - Distance between crossbars (inside to inside) 32 3/4"

This rack may fit other trucks ( range rover, land cruiser, defender, jeep, Tacoma, etc), but I don't know for sure, you would have to compare measurements above. The only truck that I KNOW it fits is a discovery.

I will post pictures specifically of the rack (without tent on it) on the flickr page below later today.

    Default pictures up

I finally got the pictures up on my flickr site. The rack is not as pretty as an off the shelf hannibal or safariguard rack, but it is very functional and economical.
    $50.

I hope someone finds it useful.

Bump for a really good guy. I actually bought the tent off of him and the rack looked very stout and was in great shape. If i had a Rover, i would have been all over it.
