Thread: 255/80 -17 BFG KM2 on AEV Pintlers?

  1. #1

Default 255/80 -17 BFG KM2 on AEV Pintlers?

Are the 255/80 -17 too narrow for the Pintlers? Currently have the stock Rubicon 255/75 -17 (on my 08 JK Unlimited) and air them down to 16 psi on the trail with no problems. Will the taller sidewall height of the 255/80 -17 make it more prone to popping the bead off the wheel when aired down?

    Thanks for any help/suggetions.

I have KM2 255/85-16s mounted on 16x8 wheels and air-down without any problems.

The Pintlers are 8" wide, right? Should work better than mine since yours are 17s.

The Pintlers are 8.5"...I know .5" doesn't sound like much, but I just wanted to ensure they would be functional when aired down.

The 255/85-16 are an load range E tire so there going to be alot stronger side wall so airing down isnt a big deal.
