So I was selected for the local Moutain Rescue team. I need to buy a bunch of gear. I have no climbing experience. Where is the best place to find gear? Is there an online dealer with good prices?

For onling purchase I use: http://www.mountaingear.com/
2nd online choice: http://www.climbinggear.com/
For quick needs, REI, though they are expensive

mountain gear is a great site. If you have the time to shop then Google is your friend. The guys in your M-SAR group may also have sources that discount for them

Check with your SAR group. The one I used to belong to got discounts from two local shops. One 15% and one 20%.
Where in the South West are you?
The team in CAMRA Central Arizona Moutian and Rescue. Its based in Phoenix. I'm pretty sure the team gets a discount at a local shop. So that may be my best bet.

Check with the team for the equipment you need: Even if you have to buy it, they may either have discounts, or specialized sources (for team ID items).
I have long wanting to experience trekking. So basically have no idea on what would I be needing, glad there are people ready to answer queries. Thanks guys.
I'd suggest making those purchases with the guidance of your group. Many high angle rescue teams have favorite pieces of gear they like to use for continuity throughout the team. Also, some teams favor Petzl's professional rescue equipment and those items are only available through Peztl Professional dealers and not Petzl Sport dealers.
Bicycles rule.
I will second the recommendations to seek guidance from the team for gear selections and purchasing. Most teams will have an "in" somewhere to buy at or below cost, and the team will definitely have recommendations for specific brands/products. Most teams like to have equipment standardized among members for guaranteed interoperability. During a rescue is a bad time to discover that Carabiner "A" has a weird radius curve and won't fit into Rigging Plate "B".
If you know exactly what you're buying and don't have in inside deal somewhere, Gear Express typically has some of the best prices around.
