Any Advice on Shipping Gear to New Zealand?

Since we will be moving there soon and do not want to wait the 3 months for our goods to arrive, I am wondering if anyone can provide advice on shipping our camping gear separately to NZ.

What size and weight box or boxes will be sent?

Watch out for import tariffs. Since you're moving to New Zealand for work, I believe there are some ways around that with special paperwork.

Let's just say, I almost got a heart attack when I got hit with a $5000 customs fee. It took me months to get that charge removed. I had the proper paperwork, but somehow it got lost in translation. Fortunately, I kept a log of every person I talked to and kept a copy of every single piece of paperwork I submitted. The copies of the paperwork saved my butt.
