Columbia Men's Cliff Lakes Cargo Shorts

Two years ago I bought three pairs of these from Cabelas.
Cabelas said they would never stop carrying them as they were one of their most popular cotton shorts.

Well, I went to order three more pair a few days ago, and they are no longer in stock, and I guess Columbia quit making them.

What a shame, as I have owned tons of cargo shorts over the years, and these are by far one of the nicest pair of shorts I have ever owned.

I Googled them, and I found them at www.altrac.com
Just ordered me up three pair one size smaller, as I have been dropping some weight, and my current three pair are hard to keep on :D

Here are the shorts in case anyone is interested in them.

They come in both 7" and 9" inseam.
I like the latter.

Velcro on the front cargo pockets, and also on the two rear pockets to keep your wallet safe.

You are welcome.
I like the elastic too.

My first two should be in the mailbox when I get home.
The third pair ships next week.

I hope I do not have to buy even smaller ones later, I am on a roll though in trimming down :D

I just got a pair at my local TJ Maxx for $16.99. They only had one of my size or I would have bought more. If you have a Maxx local it's always worth a shot.

I got mine. Nice shorts, but Altrac has the slowest shipping that I've ever seen. Eight days to process my order before shipping?

They are slow.
It took me about one week from the time I placed my order.

I can not remember if they had faster shipping available either.

Well, I have three pair now in the smaller size for me, maybe I should order a few more since they are going to be harder to get.

I still think these are the best pair of cargo shorts I have ever worn.

Just an update on these shorts.
I have five pair now, and two of them the zipper came apart while wearing them at work, with the pair I have on now the zipper went kaput an hour ago.
Good thing I have a long safety vest on :D

These are still my favorite all time shorts, but the zipper is the weak link.
Will be dropping off two pair tomorrow at a local cleaners that can put a much better zipper in them.

I do not believe anyone carries these anymore, and I wish I could find a good pair of cotton cargo shorts.
I looked at some Mountain Khaki online, but they do not have my size.

Went and ordered two of these two sizes apart, so may have to ship one pair back until I know which one fits the best.
TRU-SPEC Men's 24-7 Polyester Cotton Rip Stop 9-Inch Shorts

These shorts get great reviews at Amazon.
Also looked at Columbia Brewha II shorts which a lot who use to own the discontinued Cliff Lakes shorts like, but they only come with a 7" inseam, to short as I prefer a 9" inseam.

I've been getting cargo shorts from Costco for the past 5 years ---- ~$16 or so. They fit better than all of the ones I've gotten from Cabellas or REI.

I ended up also buying a pair of the Railrider Jammin' shorts today, they should be here next week sometime.
Also dropped off my two defunct pair of Cliff Lakes shorts at the alteration shop I have dealt with for years.
She either said $13 each to put a metal zipper in, or $13 for both.
I think it was the former.
$13 can buy you a new pair of shorts in some brands, but as far as I am concerned, those Cliff Lakes shorts are worth repairing, as they are the best cotton shorts I have ever worn.

Those Railrider Men's Versatac Light Shorts I bought last year are all nylon, and I thought they would be as comfortable as the Xtreme Adventure Pants I have from them, but they are not.
When it is too cold for shorts, I live in the Xtreme Adventure Pants.
Have five pair so far, and I have not even worn the 5th ones yet.
The other four I rotate weekly for work, kicking around in on the weekends, and for cooler camping.
Have worn them for maybe three, four years, and all of them look like the day I bought them.
They simply do not wear out, and they are so light weight, yet warm enough for cold winters.
