Best Thermos ?????????

I've gotten 6-8 hours out of my Stanley if I pre-heat it in the morning and it'll still be steaming hot. How long are you looking to keep something hot.

I agree with 6Pins, love my Stanley.
I think the best trick is to do the preheat, it make the biggest difference.

Not sure the model of it, as it was G.I., but this Thermos Thermax:

Works outstanding for both warm and cold beverages.
(though It's best to store it in the shade to keep cool! For some reason, strapping it to the outside of your assault pack in tends to warm things up in the sun...)

Start going to garage sales and look inside theroses for sale. You're looking for a glass liner. I have two, and they both keep coffee hot twelve hours or more. They'll break when dropped or misused, but so will a GPS or binoculars.
The best part is the cost. I usually buy them for two bucks or so at garage sales, with spare liners on ebay for ten apiece. Best durned Thermos made.

There are still modern Thermoses with glass liners, but I can't speak to that; I prefer the old ones.
The guy at La Vida thrift shop in Moab had a really nice plaid one quart bottle for ten dollars a couple weeks ago. I just about bought it, but I have enough right now.
Happy hunting.

Stainless Steel, Stanley, Preheat. Coffee will still be hot for lunch. I've had mine for over twenty years.

Thermos , still warm coffe, tea, water or whatever after 24++ hours as long as it's full.
I also like the Primus since they look cool and their 'grippy' surface and different sizes.

But for work and other short trips most doublewalled will do just fine.

Has anyone ran across a good one around 20 oz or so that you can drink directly from it?
I use to have a nice metal Boeing one (do not know who made it) that I ruined the top on while trying to clean it.
I basically melted it :(

Anyways, you unscrewed the cup from it and pushed a button on top that then let you pour into the cup or drink right from it.
Push the button again and it sealed.

You could lay it on its side without the cup on it and it would not leak.
Looking for something like that so I can drink hot chocolate at work during snow removal days.

Looking on Amazon now, then maybe Cabelas later.

The primus ones come with 2 stoppers. a normal screw one and the pop/stop one you describe above. We have the 0.5L version for backpacking, looking out for a 1L version now. good enough for 10hrs. preheat overnight is key.
