found this RTT for sale and can't seem to find a link that shows the specs of it.

It was purchased from cartoptents.com the seller says, but that model is no longer shown as available.

This model doesn't seem to come with a rain fly... and wonder if it is as waterproof as the owner claims ?

He's asking $ 375.00

Just wanting some opinions on its value and quality.

Anyone here ever owned one ? thoughts ?

Anyone have an old link that shows the specs for this tent ?
Maybe it was discussed, previously, here ?

thanks.

It's 48" W X 67" L X 9" H closed.
seems it would be big enough when opened. ?

Yeah I could make a fly... if need be.

Yes... I'm forever, and always on a budget.

Surely someone knows more about this particular tent ?

Dell,
I do not know too much about that particular style of tent. I am sure you came across this review on the prior models of Mombasa Tents: http://www.yankeetoys.org/mangler/ctt.htm

Thanks Wil... I did see that.
and I'll take a guess... this tent will need something along the lines of improvement

----------------

No I can't zoom in and read the labels...
the craigslist pics suck donkey b's

But the seller say's it simply says cartoptent.com
and doesn't show a model name.

guess I gotta go look at 'er to know more.

Welcome to ExPo Dell!:ylsmoke:

Looks like an early version but one I have never seen before. My instinct says buyer beware....

Thanks Dave...

Well my instincts took a nose dive...

My mother lives near the seller...
so she went to look at it and since she thought it looked new and functions as it should (opens and closes)

she paid the seller for it in my behalf... $ 300.

So now it's mine even if it is sub par.

Here's hoping I can make the thing work... and don't have to do too much to make it a capable for inclement weather conditions.

I get the feeling... I've just bought another project from hell.

Well congrats. Please let us know what that logo indicates and snap some more detailed photos if you will. I'd like to add the manufacture to my RTT article if its in fact someone different.

Good luck and I hope it fits your needs

thanks...

This tent is obsolete... a thing of the past.
Not likely to be of much interest to anyone.

But I will share some pics of it... when I get 'er home.

after getting it home and looking things over...
I'm quite happy with my purchase of this RTT.

tho' not mounted to the trailer's top yet...
I set it up... no wait... actually my girl friend set it up, took her all of 10 seconds...
wow.gif

was weird that it could be this easy

I'll get some pics and a video clip of this tent design/set up shortly...
I'm likely to get a little busy finishing up the trailer's lid, so if I'm a slacker...
'least my priorities are stated. :)

I have seen that tent for sale in the UK as recently as last year. So they can not be THAT old. Perhaps you should nose around google.co.uk and see if you can find info on it over there. Just be sure you stay on non-USA web pages and you might find some good stuff. Seems like it was a nice enough tent. In fact someone on here was selling one out of CA a year ago. He had two tents for sale, one of them was an 'overland' or something like that, and this was the other.

Seems like a great price to me.

Cheers

I did do a search there... and still can't seem to find another like it.

If you find something... let me know :)
