CEL #21 On A Gen I

So the engine coolant temp. sensor appears to be going bad. Or at least that is what the ECU tells me. It sounds like a pretty straightforward swap, not sure on the location though.

Also, since the CEL came on it is harder to start. It will start and run great, but takes a few turns of the key to get it going. Not sure how a temp sensor would play into that. Any Ideas?

Lastly should I change out the thermostat at the same time as a preventative measure? Would you guys recommend the stock thermostat or is there a better replacement out there?

Thanks

Got the wrong coolant sensor the first time, there are about three or four in the general area. This sensor is mounted in the thermostat housing transversely towards the front and has two spade connectors in the shape of a 't'. I just pulled that old sensor and took it in for comparison as there are about three different temp sensors listed. Fixed the problem right away. Hope this helps someone.
