Well had a little carnage this weekend at a truck pull. Broke a traction bar mount and then the axle proceded to wrap up hard breaking the pass side spring perch and bending the drivers side. Today was spent repairing the damage.










I also got some tires mounted up on it too.

Well today we decided to dig into the A/C. Last October it quit working on my way back from Indiana.

Anyhoo we found the compressor to be real weak and leaking. So I slapped on a good used low mile compressor some fresh O-rings and gaskets and now I just gotta vac it down and charge it up with some R12.

Well on my way home from a pull last night i splattered a deer with my 90. Bent the bumper and the tie rod other than that and a big bloody mess nothing is too bad. Hit it just left f the center n the drivers frame horn, I think thats what save the sheet metal.

Yup, that's a dead deer alright... You might post a "PG" rating on those pics Funny that I am just heading up to the cat shop to see what I have to mod to make my big winch bumper fit.

Yeah I spose I coulda put a warning on the post. Any who got the tie rod fixed and gave the truck a bath today.

Shackle flip will start tomorow!!!!!!! Bout dang time, had the parts over a year.

Well, Finaly got around to doin the shackle flip today, Took a little longer than I wanted but.... Started at about 930 this morning and had all the tools put away by midnight. The tear down didn't take long but getting the old spring eye bushngs sucked. THis was quite the pain in the ***(and back, and knees to do but the results were well worth the hassle. The truck rides about 10 times better and now I have no lift blocks at all, and it also took care of some bad axle wrap i had when not running traction bars.

The bushings are always a bastardo. Last time I did a shackle reversal I started drilling the rubber out with a BIG 1/2" drill, but found that if I let the bit go in right next to the spring eye, it would "walk" in a circle between the bushing and spring. That broke the bond between the two, and I could pound them out. This time we used a ball joint press with air impact and heat. I don't think it was any faster this time, but it was a lot less physically demanding!

i usualy just burn the bushings out with a torch and drive em out when there still flaming.
