    Default 300GDN Ambulance conversion.

I have just converted a 1988 G300 ambulance into a camper. The base vehicle is very similar to the one that 'Devil1964' has built his vehicle upon.
I got hold of this vehicle by pure luck a little more than a month ago, and my wife and I have used the last four weeks painting it and building an interior in it.
The vehicle is a 1988 G-wagen (5-cyl 3Litre N/A diesel) with a Zeppelin Shelter. It has diff-locks front and rear, 24V electrics, and two Webasto heaters. It has only 42.000km (26.000 miles) on it.

Nice to see you here as well, Mac

Looking forward to see the pictures after the first major trip, with your G.

By the way, just dig the map on the wall

The table folds down to the same hight as the seats/sofas. And the cushions fills out to a bed for two (not very tall) persons.

Nice to see another ambulance conversion! I really like the map on the wall - where are you planning to take the camper?

    Welcome, 73A1!

Tell us more about the source of your vehicle. Is it ex-military, or perhaps
a vehicle owned by a small community? A 22 year old vehicle with 42.000
    km is unusual.

    Hi again folks!

Now we have just come home after three weeks of driving, and living in this vehicle. It performed perfect! We have had a really nice trip around Iceland where we have been driving mostly on the 4x4 tracks around the island. Sand, rocks and fresh volcanic ash.
The vehicle has previously belonged to the Norwegian army. As far as I know they only sold 6 or 7 of theese before they decided not to sell any more of them.
