Tundra Redesign? When?

I'm not Tundra fluent, but isn't the current Tundra design only 2-3 years old? If that's the case I'd not expect a major redesign before probably 2014. Toyota seems to hold onto a design for 7 to 8 years before major changes are initiated. But if we succumb to another major oil price hike all bets are off. A lot can change quickly if fuel prices hit and maintain $5.00+ per gallon.

I would welcome a new design as well, along with a 3/4 ton option. I have seen one of the current Tundras that was all blacked out with no chrome and it actually looked decent. I think there is just a little too much going on with them. Kind of like they are trying too hard.

I also think that this Tundra looks pretty good, nice and simple. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46335

It isnt the prettiest thing in the world, but if only I could walk off the showroom floor with a brand new one. This is what should replace the Tundra. Aussies have got it made.

I have to agree that there was no reason for Toyota to reinvent the wheel except the American masses would not have gotten it. Of course the functionality of the 70 series cruiser is way above either of Toyota's American offerings. I was at least hoping for a legitimate full size version of something closely resembling the 04 year model Tacoma which IMHO is one of the better looking designs Toyota came out with in that truck.

When I initially saw the 07 Tundra I was skeptical but I bought the truck for the whole package. I think it is very well thought out. Aesthetically I think it looks good in its own way albeit different than I had hoped for.
