It looks like owners of Google's Nexus One phone will be first to get
access to Android 2.2. HTC says all of its Android phones sold in 2010
will be able to use 2.2.

Here's a Youtube video that talks about the features in Android 2.2.

It was a public fiasco with Android 2.1.
Admins and mods over on the Droid forum I use would release notes that it would come at a certain date, then it did not.
This grew quite hilarious as it happened multiple times.

Motorola blamed Verizon, and the other way around.

By the time 2.2 is ready, it will take Verizon awhile to get their act together to release it to us.

I am looking forward to it though, Flash alone will be worth the wait.
Can not view Vimeo vids without it.
Vimeo sent me an URL to use on their site to view them a few months back before Flash is released, but I never got it to work like they said it would.

This will be a fun one to watch... I use a G1 phone from T-Mo, and so does my wife. We both love our phones, and they just seem to get better each month as the apps update and the OS updates.

Since my GPS was stolen out of my truck while I was in OZ, I have not yet replaced my GPS since my phone can do it... Pretty sweet to only have one thing, that does all.

The new OS will be for Motorola Droids too.

I would buy one right now, why wait?
It will update itself later when the update is pushed to us.

which carrier has the fastest broadband?

I currently have VZ. The coverage is great but the internet speeds are pretty slow.

As owners of Nexus One's (The wife and I)... WE CAN'T WAIT!!

First in line for the update! Woo! However, this also means we are first in line to discover all the bugs. It's never /perfect/. Still have sporadic issues with the 3G connectivity with the Nexus, I really hope they fixed it for good with 2.2.

Woo! Just got the 2.2 update! It is saaweeeeeet! Phone is all around faster, a few "default" apps were updated and function better, couple nice new shortcuts, oh and the FREE TETHERING vis USB OR WIFI works PERFECTLY! Phone is now a one click mobile hotspot and works really fast.

For any other impatient Nexus One owners, you can download the update and install it yourself instead of waiting for the update to come to you "sometime" by going here: Lifehacker

EDIT: Just got Flash Player 10.1 installed. It runs REALLY SMOOTH. All the flash sites I've visited on it are functioning great!

Apparently any update after 1.6 will not be available for the G1.....unfortunately!
