Craigslist: Interesting WW2 military trailer

Not mine...just saw it online, and was intrigued by the unique style (haven't seen one like this before). This one's located in SW Michigan.

Man,
I wonder what that thing is? Doesn't look like any of the other "Military" trailers I have ever come across, no matter what year they are from? Now the fenders may be original or maybe not? But even the tub is different...I winder if it could be a prototype? The major players (Bantam, Willys, ans Ford) all did trail run vehicles for the Jeep...and then for the trailers as well...hmmm. Maybe should post this around the military jeep forums and see if anyone knows anything...? Very cool either way!
