A few hours to the West is Badlands off road park in Indiana.

North of Akron, is a place called Jeep Skool. 1500 acres, and some pretty fun trails. www.jeepskool.com

I know their are some placed in Kentucky but I'm not sure of the names.

I get out and drive backroads a lot. Brown and Adams county have a lot of nice roads.

Eastern Indiana has some great exploring as well.

Go do Daniel Boone National Forest in KY or Royal Blue Recreation Area in TN.

What kind of exploring are you looking for?

(days drive) 1)Livingston Ky just take 75 south to exit 49 go right off the exit straight up the hill and have fun. 2) Red river gorge KY. just do a search on google. 3) Interlake IN. also do a google search. Good luck with your search...

Depends on what type of place you consider cool? Some offroad parks have been posted or are you thinking about something like hiking in Wayne National forest or Hocking Hills, Ohio?

Going west you have this http://www.scenicroadrallies.com/ but Eastern Ohio is beautiful also. http://www.scenicroadrallies.com/vie...1&PhotoID=1824

Going south Kentucky has a ton of camping, hiking, offroading (suggest to go with a club), boating etc.

I lived in Athens for 3 years and there are tons of back roads with hiking and Hocking Hills is very beautiful. Sr 56 around New Marshfield goes all to Hocking area and has a bunch of cool spots. I used to ride my BMW GS through there.
