This looks very cool!

Looks likes it needs cross bars to mount to, but I'm sure I could figure out some way to mount it to a Bajarack Maggiolina Rack.

I think I have seen that before.
You picked up the same rack I have?
Great rack is it not?

I haven't ordered it yet, I'm talking to John at Bajarack about which size to get (regular vs wide) and whether they can handle an XL Airlander (if I don't get an Airtop).

It is an obvious choice for the money, quality and specific application!

This shower system doesn't sound as effective as regular bags (from reading their website) at heating up water, but since it's mounted all day when traveling you are already way ahead.

Pretty slick. If you had OBA, you could hook up a regulator to keep it pressurised at 8-10 PSI. (or just fill it with the OBA)

But for $200 shipped, I think I could build one from my left over 'potato cannon':snorkel:

$200? Whoa, that's seems a little bit silly. Sounds like a home Depot project to me...

Ya no doubt...Some PVC, caps with threaded hose connections, a sprayer and my on-board c02...I am sure there is more to it, but it can't be that difficult to engineer. I believe someone over on iH8MUD did something similar...

I've seen a LOT of people with home-made showers like that, and would guess the 'inventor' of that product did too. Nothing wrong with taking a good idea and commercializing it, but ******? $200? Really?

Actually, there appears to be more to it that just some PVC if you take a look at the pictures. Primarily, the center section is clear so you can see the water level. And white PVC will die in the sunshine rapidly, so I don't think that's what this is made out of.

If you're going to go into business making and selling something, there's no sense in doing so if you don't have any intention of turning a net profit. :)

To be fair, I've had a number of home made projects absolutely snowball on me and cost me dearly in money and aggravation. Sometimes you're better off just buying what you need. I think this thing looks like a fine idea.

My Road Shower works great

I actually own three of these units now and a family member has just mounted the mini road shower to his Stephens Transport truck. I actually conducted a test of these for over a year and have to say they hold up very well! I have two mounted to my ATV trailer and one on my 2006 Pathfinder next to our Eezi Awn series 3 1400 RTT.

I currently use a portable 12v air pump to pressurize my Roadshowers. Usually the pressure relief valve will release at seven psi. The other thing I liked is that they offered a full 90 day satisfaction warranty and a full one year warranty for the product.

I have seen the RoadShower list brand new on ebay for $129.00. For a full review written by my wife over a year of testing through various environments and conditions then go here:

I agree with Mark! There are a lot of parts and time put into these! Plus with the 90 day satisfaction guarantee you can't beat it!

Update: Modified hose for further reach

Just wanted to provide an update.

I completed a 5 minute modification tonight and installed a .28 cent 1/2" x 3/4" threaded male adapter to one of my Roadshowers. I replaced the original water hose with a 25' REI coil hose from Target. The cost of the new hose with shower head was $14.99 plus tax. I conducted several tests and it continues to work Great! The added reach is awesome! Walmart and Target both carry a 50' coil hose for $19.99 plus tax. I also included a picture of an optional adapter from Lasco that can be used for the modification.

Regards,

Ummm yeah... thats a DIY project if I have ever seen one....lol. Some SCH 40 PVC painted black, two end caps and a few simple fittings. I think I might have to build two for my Jumping jack..to wash feet ans stuff before you get in.

I looked this over really good back in the day and made an exact replica of it, crap in my opinion. It was awesome for about a minute, then as pressure equalizes because of the water being lost it you loose pressure way to quickly. I even pressurized mine via co2 just like above.. not worth your time or money unless you put a constant pressure airtank to this thing, then its gonna be a pain to put on and off, or load with water. I think your better off going with the type I plan to use in page 3 of my build. I then modified the above version to accept 100psi and had a gauge to insure I did not overcharge it, that was okay for a while but still lost pressure really quickly.. then I fixed it so I could pull it up in a tree and it hang vertically and let the water gravity feed, with the air inlet right beside the shower head so you could add air when needed and in the middle of showering.. worked okay.. but nothing to write home about... But if your gonna shower with this, get a head like this for it.

This one makes it seem like your getting alot more water and you can shut it off when your soaping up.

Both in oman and venezuela there were many of these used, made from 4" drainage pipe, two saddles and plugs and 2 stop ends.

yep your potatoe gun can probably be re-cycled

Along similar lines if you take a pastic miltary water can, with the breather and the water outlet.

A 1/2" npt tap will just sweetly cut you a thread inside the outlet.

I then use a shower hose and a butt wash sprinkler, it has a grip operated valve for 1 handed use ...

Hoist on to the rack and shower away.

Pressurising - depends on how much water you want to use and carry in your truck ? especially on the roof.

I say use a non pressurized tank, then a pump that pressurizes the water outside the tank in the lines coming to shower you with water, that way the tank could never rupture from overpressure and you could run the line anywhere to shower.
