The problem with the Brute kit ($9000) is that you can't stop there!
There's big suspension and tires, axle upgrades (how about portals?),
the highline fender and heat extractor hood, the Hemi or diesel, new
    bumpers, and so on.

I think it's more practical to start with the J8 MILSPEC diesel two door,
estimated cost $60,000. Then make the Brute cab fit, and add the camper
of your choice. Figure maybe $75,000.

A less expensive option is the Flip-Pac that Adventure Trailers is designing
to fit the Jeep JK. Just buy a Rubicon model, put the AT Jeep Flip-Pac on top,
    and you're out the door.

I didn't say it would be cheap...

    It would be cool

Your idea of the J8 as the platform is a better option.

Those guys aren't going to be able to build those camper tops fast enough.

I never been a "Jeep" guy, that would get me to switch brands. It would be America's answer to the Toyota LC70 camper.

I am buying a new vehicle here in a couple months, I am torn between a Tacoma and the JK 4 door, waiting to see what the Flip Pac for the JK is going to be like.

    Default HMMM cost

Yeah the Brute could cost that much but if you compare buying a new Jeep Rubicon at $35,000

    donor jeep 6,000
    brute kit 10,000
    Wheels and suspension 7,000
    Highline kit 2,000
    Hemi kit 5,200
    crate motor 6,000

Total 36,000 ish ( these numbers are rough don't cut yourself )

Just throwing out some numbers but you could have a super bad *** Brute and the ulitmate winter project for the same price as a loaded 4dr Jeep.
