Here's the most detailed review of the Galaxy Tab I've seen so far:

-- Introduction, user interface: http://carrypad.com/2010/10/28/sams...iew-part-1-overview-hardware-screen-keyboard/

-- Applications: http://carrypad.com/2010/10/31/samsung-galaxy-tab-detailed-review-part-2-applications/

-- Performance, features: http://carrypad.com/2010/11/09/sams...d-review-part-3-performance-features-summary/

And here's a video that shows how to pull the case apart

Looks like the Galaxy Tab 3G will be available from T-Mobile Nov 10, from Verizon on Nov. 11, from Sprint on Nov. 14, and from AT&T in early December.

So does anyone have one yet????

We have one at work that we're developing software for. I've played with it a little. The general consensus in the office is that the build and form-factor is great. Performance is great. But the price point is high. All of the benefits of Android on a larger screen, basically.

I think Android tablets will most likely be more useful for overlanders (than the iPad), simply due to the open, more utilitarian nature of the platform. I personally like the size better for a dashboard-mounted device. These devices are going to evolve very quickly, and I believe in a year from now, the tablet line-up is going to be dramatically different.

It's really rather exciting to watch this technology emerge!

Had a chance to get my hands on a Galaxy Tab (finally a real one and not a demo mockup):

Awesome.
Quick response times
Crystal clear display
Nice size...

Really impressed.

Now if they can confirm A3.0
Phone access

This could be a winner....

At the CES convention, Samsung announced that a sort of "super" Galaxy Tab is heading to Verizon later this Spring. The new model will support LTE (Verizon's way to deliver higher speed data), and will have a 1.2 Ghz processor (up from 1.0 in regular Galaxy Tab models).

Samsung is now selling a WiFi-only version of the Galaxy Tab in USA. You can buy it from lots of retail outlets (Fry's, Amazon, TigerDirect, others). The price is $350.

Sprint and Verizon both offer the Galaxy Tab with WiFi and 3G for $200, but you've got to sign up for a 2 year contract to get this low price.
