Default need pic of RTT mtd high up on pick up

Not sure where to put this thread.

After wasting a significant portion of my work day looking, i thought I'd ask the Google FuMasters at Expo for help.

My buddy is looking at vehicles and I know what he needs and he will to as soon as he sees what I am talking about.

We ride moutain bikes and enduros together and he always gets bummed out when I leave him to go off with my overland buddies. He wants to go with but his old Ford Exploder is too low and tired and his F-150 is 2wd. He wants a 4dr f-150.

He needs to see a picture of some sort of super crew 4 dr. full size pickup with an enduro (any motorcycle will do) in the bed and an RTT above the bike, like on a lumber rack or roof rack or ?

This is important stuff, as you all can imagine.

Last weekend it got so bad the he showed up at our destination just for lunch.

Next year is the year of overlanding to awesome off road destinations, then base camping and riding from there. (I'm going to fab a motorcycle tray mount that does not hamper my departure angle.)

Please help!!! It's the internet, these pics have to be out there somewhere!

Thanks in advance for helping a brother out.

    Ever grateful,

    T.Low

I know the type of rack with an open bed, but it is on a blue Tacoma.
The member is on the forum here.
This would give him an idea though.

He would have plenty of room for a bike, motorbike.

Honestly, Corey, I was really close to sending you a PM about this. Thanks.

If anyone else has one with a motorcycle in back feel free to post it...or any others for that matter.

    Thanks guys.

Where would the enduro go? Its not going to fit underneath it short of laying a bike on its side.

It seems to me, on the occassion that I do carry my bike in the bed of my f-150, that it is about as high as the top of the cab and not higher. I'd think the taco would be a bit shorter.

Either way, though, I'm actually envisioning a lumber rack with the rear-most crossbar (the one that fits directly over the tail gate) NOT installed so the bike can be ridden in. Then the RTT could sit over the quad cab, not the bed.

If it could in fact be mtd high enough, it would be an added benefit for the RTT to somewhat shelter the bike.

Why the bed rack? You could install the RTT on a simple Yakima or Thule load bar system over the cab of the truck and use the existing bed as normal.

dieselcruiserhead has a RTT over the cab of his truck using Thule setup, even has a pedal bike mount off to the side so his bed is 100% open.

Any reason for not simply using a hitch carrier, or a trailer for the bike(s)?

Anyone with moderate welding skills, an angle grinder, and a couple feet of tube can "lift" a versa-Hauler (or similar) moto-carrier in a couple hours if reduced departure angle is a concern.

Personally, I hate putting bikes in the back of my truck. It's just a pain in the butt -- especially if you have a bunch of other gear that rides out back.

Nice pic, thanks. I think my buddy would like that better too.

    Easily in the back.
It is a full size truck, not a Toyota.
And the title states RTT up high.

Seen plenty of bikes in the back of a pickup truck mounted upright.
With a lumber rack up high it would work.

However if it was me, I would be putting the tent over the dual cab.
