Now I’ve started with the update.

Since we have got back I made a start on our new 12volt fridge. The inner & outer box was ready just before Christmas but touring comes first, so I made a start when we got back.
With some tips & advice from Portal members I took a leap, the copper pipe took me a while to work out how to make it up but in the end it was not as hard as I expected, very happy so far.
This weekend the 2 pak expanding insulation foam goes in the gap & lid this weekend.
The fridge will be 70Lt total capacity with 8Lt dairy section up top. The compressor is a Danfoss 35F & I’ve gone with a Dixell digital thermostat with an LED internal light.

Having trouble up loading images will try later.

    Cheers

It looks like my images were to large, silly me.
    Here we go.

I can't imagine the work you'll do after you get more practice

What a terrific camper, your really thoughtful planning is only exceeded by the quality of your work.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Scott B, the wheels are 15x8, tires are small for you guys 31x10.5. I wanted to keep every thing well inside our draconian RTA laws.

When the fridge is finished it has its home inside the kitchen side of the camper, then I can make a start on the cupboards. That will mean I’m very close to finished

Just an update on the 12V fridge for our camper.
All the expanding foam is done with no distortion of the cabinet.
I just picked up the plastic cap that goes over the inner & outer sections of the cabinet. The fridgie is doing all the fitting of the compressor, thermostat & 12Volt wire ring this weekend .
All should be ready for our trip to Moreton Island in 3 weeks

    Cheers

Had a failed start with the Fridgie,

The guy is on his way over as i type to do his part on the fridge.
I will post some images of it complete tomorrow, hope there is no problems as we leave for the Island on Friday
I love the look of it, this one has had me working way outside my comfort zone, but well worth the strech.

    Cheers

I'm quite intrigued with this fridge - are there any plans/online ressources to build something like this?
