FWIW Scott E at Rockstomper swore by (not at!) his Pierce winch way, way back in the day.
I used to swerve around my hallucinations, now I drive right through them.

I have owned a number of MM hydro's over the years (still have 2) and they are great winches and well within the strength requirement for a off road truck.

One of the things to keep in mind about winches is the overall weight of the set up. Many of the pierce or ramsey units are just plain stupid heavy and adding that much weight onto a small rover is a really poor idea as the added strength of the larger winch is not needed as the MM winch allready operates as a 100% duty cycle unit at the line pull ratings a 6000 lb truck requires.
I got a bottle of Aloe after getting sun burned. It says "apply Liberally"... I'm not sure if this means other people pay for it and I use it, or I am to force other people to use it even if they dont want to because it's what I think is right for them?

Yeah, my RE10000 is pretty heavy. But I've always had a thing for worm drive.

I've heard of them, but never looked at them so no experience at all.
But to be honest, when the thing that gets top billing by a company is what software they use, I am inclined to look elsewhere.
That said, if I were in the market for a hydraulic winch I'd give them a look.

I think it's because they are an engineering company rather than a company that sell 4x4 kit.

The parent company Red Start Design is a very well known in the specialist design and build world - they do work for Ford's PAG and my own real job employers for example (we do a bit of civil engineering)

I have to agree with you - it's not information I need to know

I'm liking what I see here. sized right but higher quality. It' would be pretty hard to buy sight unseen. Being british I have to worry about the seals leaking to I take it no dealers in canada. Do you have experiance with them?

Yeah noticed that on the pierce, that's a heavy monster.

    Yes (in a word)

I'm down there on Saturday to do a photo shoot and get some more info for an article on them.

I've used the kit a bit, in anger, seen the production and build quality and am now trying to decide which of my kids to sell so I can buy one

How many kids do we have to sell for one of those bad boys?
