Small progress update. It has taken me so long to get to this stage it was starting to bog me down but we are now getting there! Sink is now completely plumbed in and I eventually fitted the filler externally. I wanted it inside but space did not permit. I have also fitted a standard brass tap on the outside which is connected to the drain valve. When we need to empty it out (going to Norway in February!) or access water easily this tap will come in useful.
As mentioned before the whale (left tap) is cold unfiltered and the chrome (right tap) is filtered using a Nature Pure unit which is good for bacteria, viruses, cysts etc. These are powered by an on demand Flojet pump which I have wired up to work with a courtesy light switch (Land Rover) so it only operates when the door is opened. This means that if a hose blows or something comes undone the pump wont empty 50L into the (sealed!) trailer. I have also wired in an LED strip to this switch.
The otherside of the sink will house the leisure battery and a bit of space for stacking boxes. the door also has a courtesy switch for an LED strip on that side. Im using
these LEDs from Ebay, I cant believe how bright they are and LEDs have so much going for them.
whats left at this stage? I want to plumb in a quick connect to allow an extra length of hose to be used with a spray gun and shower head to add versatility. I also want to tap into the input side and add a quick connect to allow the pump to draw water through a foot strainer valve and long hose (5m?) so we can pump water from a river/lake etc when travelling. This will also aid filling the tank as we can draw water through the long hose and output through the spray gun into the tank filling it quickly and efficiently. It also allows us to draw from jerry cans so we can mix hot/cold water for showers and stick to a strict 20L max.
Another quick update: I just installed the battery tray and a storage tray along with wiring in the LED lights to the door courtesy switches. Very pleased with the results.
