    Default LR3/4 3rd seat removal?

Has anybody removed the 3rd row seat in an LR3 or LR4 and used the space underneath for storage? Any pics???

i think most LR3/LR4 are still being driven by moms to the mall...so nobody has really contemplated on removing back seats yet.

is there that much room to be gained by removing the seats?

I'm just asking for my buddy who just bought one. I drive a 2008 JK Unlimited Rubicon, so nothing to be gained for me. I guess I'll have to help him experiment with his LR3 and take the seats out to see how it does.

I use mine. I use the seats now and then and wouldn't remove them for limited gains. It just has plenty of room for my need with the seats folded flat. Even with the 7 seats in use you can fit like three carry on bags behind the 3rd row stood up vertically.

My LR3 didn't have the back seats, but I have helped others remove them. It's VERY easy, just a couple of bolts across the bars that the seats mount to. There is a fair amount of room there, especially if you build up the footwell in front of the seat to be flat with the rest of the cargo area. My middle seats are different than most normal LR3's, but you sorta can see the open area below the cargo area that would be the footwell for the rear seats in this photo:

With a platform built up over the rear seat area (or use the OEM plywood panel ordered through a Dealer), there is a fairly generous amount of room, even with middle seats intact, allowing room for 5 AND a sizable amount of cargo:

All this fits inside, even with the middle seats up and two kids sitting in them:

Right before I sold my LR3 Mario at Adventure Trailer was going to remove them for my new drawer/water system. The void where they were was enough to hold a 20 gallon+ water bladder!
