C'mon, don't bulls**t me
Here's my work in progress/daily driver 2004 Chevy Astro LT AWD "Stroverlander" with 136k now. I bought it two years old with 35k, I previously owned '97 Safari AWD and both frequently used for motorcycle transport. Over the last ten months have been transforming into my overland adventure vehicle, which I've been documenting in this thread: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/72414-Astro-AWD-quot-Stroverlander-quot I've done all the work myself on Stroverlander with the exception of a bit of welding and wheel alignment.

Like T.Low's Astro shown previously, I am on the the lookout for a 2-speed transfer case and associated parts to swap into my van and will install 4.10 gears some time down the road along with interior and other modifications.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE astro vans!!! my folks had a 90 model for 11 years that we put well over 200k miles on. was not an AWD but somehow that poor poop brown mo-sheen went and got out of places it never should of been. was an LT model so had that cool *** digital dash and spiffy super comfy seats throughout. sure miss that van, sold it 11 years ago but i do still see it on the road every once in a great while so i know its still doing its job :)

Van did really great. Really impressed with how much the limited slip rear differential allowed the van to get though things on street tires.

My wife uploaded her pics today.

Grumpy three wheeling. I was leading the group at this point and got the van pitched forward quite a bit. Even though I made it through the rest of the group continued on towards a slightly easier line.

I love astro/safari's. Really miss my v8 Astro. Would still love to have an AWD and follow your path.
