M101 Tent Mounting Options

As a solution to the significantly smaller cargo area in my new JK I just picked up a M101. I have a Mombasa tent that I want to mount to the trailer so I can have an instant camping setup that I can hook up Friday after work and head for the hills. Please help me decide how to mount the tent; I have come up with two options:

On a lid with gas struts such as PCRover’s and Bajaxplorer's setup.

Or a raised rack system such as this.

I like the aesthetics and lower center of gravity of the lid design, but it would be nice to be able to use the trailer around the house with the rack system. Please give me your thoughts.

I like the clean lines and security of the lid setup. I need a trailer for other uses too, and think it would be easier to make a simple rack for plywood, drywall, etc. I have an M101 (Phoenix group buy) on the way, and have just started to look at some of the work others have done--there's some impressive work out there.
