Humvette and Fat Elvis Update

Well this is not a build thread of one vehicle but more like my builds. I had a 2007 f350 and I was stolen. It was replaced by a 2008 f250 and I am even happier, bu I miss the dually's :( . I also have. 2001 Hummer H1 that is crazy modded. Then when I want to go fast (like Rickey Bobby) I get in the vette and take it to the track, it's a 2006 z51 with a zillion mods.

I will start to keep this more up to date :). Look on page 7 for 5/17/2013 update

Major upate 7/24/2011 mid page 5 :) new truck with more power!

Guys,
I just bought a new truck!
2007 Ford F350 King Ranch Crew Cab Long Bed Dually 4x4 FX4
73k on the clock

I called it "The King" and my best bud said no thats not right you need to call it Fat {Dually} Elvis {The King} and the name just stuck LOL!

Yes i still have the Hummer and the Corvette. I bought the truck to be my daily driver. I know it seems big, but i LOVE IT. I also bought it to tow the Hummer offroad and the Vette to the track. I know it is not Overlander style to trailer to the trails or close, but i have no option. The new fiance (as of last month) will not do another trip with me in the HUMMER H1. She loves it offroad, but it in not very streetable. Plus this lets me make the H1 even more extreme. :wings:

- Customised 100 Transfer Tank with gravity feed

New for the H1:

After that i will need my 3.08 (6.16:1 including hubs) with E-Lockers
Those mods will let me drive over straight 2' free standing wall and 30" ledge with out touching it.

Thanks man.

I cannot wait to go on an offroad trip from people from this forum.

I love all types of vehicles!
- Jeeps
- D90's
- Discovery's
- taco's (all the types)
- old cruisers
- Big Full Size (i have a thing for hehe...)

I really plan on expoing out the hummer
- Onboard air (stock)
- Onboard water
- Onboard 120v (done)
- Big huge wooden drawer system in the back
- big fridge
- One of my biggest issues is the spare tire! I mean a 42" will weigh almost 200lbs. I would rather not put it on the roof. I like keeping the back of the truck clean and keeps my departure angle awesome. I will probably build sometype of slide in system over the 2 big drawers in the back with a ramp of some sort.
- I have to carry tons of tools, and spare parts. Balljoints, Tie rods, pitman and idler arms, all 4 halfshafts, brake parts, a ton of seals, and some general engine and electrical stuff. I will probably make one drawer tools and one spare parts.

Many choices hehe

i love the h1 wagons, also the single cab truck models too, there probley my fav, we have a older man that come into work every tuesday, he has a yeller h1 wagon civie with the 6.5, every tuesday he buys a few new guns, we dont ask why cause his background checks clear, and im sure he has enough firepower to host a war between china and india

I figured a stock H1 would clear a 2 inch wall. Ya never know sometimes.

My advice as a Ford tech (22 years) is to not get to carried away on the 6.0L mods. EGR delete is OK and the improved oil cooler are good things, is this the Bullet Proof diesel kit? I wouldn't mess with a tuner on a 6.0L with stock head bolts in it and don't really feel it's a good thing anyhow if you want that 6.0L to live very long.

I corrected my typo LOL!

The main head gasket issues were 03-05. Granted some happened in 2007, but not as many. I am using the Sinister EGR Delete. I plan on Head Studs in 15k miles or so. I can feel my current EGR already clog up. I have been really reading and learning a lot about the 6.0's. I appreciate your consern. I would not be incredibly upset if i had to put a cummins in hehe ;). Honestly i drive the truck like a grandma and have maybe floored it 4 times in 3000 miles. I am tuning for economy. Trying to hit that 20mpg at 70mph mark. I am about 3 mpg off right now.

Well,
I just added the following to the list:
- Weather Guard Rat Pack (for the back of the hummer). Found it used
- 12k half shafts (stock is 10k)
- 12k Hubs (stock is 10k)
- Military f/r turn signals
- Humvee Rear Diff Cooler. It connects to the trans lines... Very rare to find one! It should help keep the temp low.
- HID's for my Hella Ralley 3000's for the front brush guard

I cannot wait to put them all on!

Are you swapping out the entire hub or just the input gear to take the 12k shafts?

BTW, I love the truck! Some day I will own some version of the H1 even if I have to build one myself!

Well,
I bought the whole hub with the new style gear in it already. Yes you can retro fit the 12k top gear into the 10k easily, but for $70 more you save a lot of time and you get to keep your stock stuff. I figured i would rather keep my hub. That way i can through 2 corners of the Hummer into the ol trailer so if i need to swap out quickly i can :Wow1:. Keep me on the tail more. I bought them for $250 each and new from AMG the CTIS spindle is $500!!! so i thought i would just keep it incase i trash one :ylsmoke:

They are great vehicles. Lots of maintenance, but most is preventative. You treat your truck right it will treat you right. I mean i could drive a toyota offroad and destroy it, even though on the street it is a much more reliable vehicle.

The H1 is one of the only vehicle in the world purly designed for offroad. :victory:
