    i have a set of aluminum wheels that i was thinking about tossing on the power wagon to replace the steel wheels i have on the new set would be 18 inch

    I voted steelies. The fact that I think 18s would be more difficult to find replacements for, compared to the 17s.

    plus tires in the 35-37" range on 18" wheels get even more expensive than 17"

    I vote steels. the aluminum ones you have are too flashy imho.

    I kept my factory alum, as the 37's on 17s give the 'magic' 10" sidewall. Steel vs alum -if a cosmetic question- alum. If a functional question- steel. Size- that is a $$ question, and the options for 17s are way more available and readily available if you do any remote trips, should the need arise for emergency tire to be shipped...
