Welders and grinders make most metal fit, thanks for the info I appreciate it, and congrats on the first post! WELCOME!

Thanks! And I agree about the welder and grinder solution. In fact, I fab'ed some floor mounts for my mom's E-350 to replace the bench seats for captains chairs so I know it can be done. Lol

The Aerostar bench may work best since the width between the wheel humps is similar to the Bronc's,

I would re-think the rack being mounted to the rain gutters. With all that weight on the rack you are just asking for them to rip apart. I have seen many broncos that have rain gutter problems from light bars and rack mounted to them. If I were you I would look into the fake gutter mounts from yakima or thule and mount it on the camper.

Thanks for checking in-YES!

Any update on the Bronco? Eager to see more pics!

Well it has been such a painfully long process, all my fault! The guy I bought the bronco from should be cannonized as the next saint for putting up with me, I finally have the truck at my house and the rear is out waiting for the Sterling 10.25 I just bought to go in. I have some pics and will post. Thanks!

Lookin' good! I'm taking my Bronco in a different direction (read: cheap) but it's exciting to watch your progress!

Can't wait to watch the progress.

I'm building my Bronco for travel also. Mostly overnight kind of things with just me.
I'm going to install a bed cage, raised tank, longer shocks, storage and a sleeping platform this summer. That's one of the next few projects. I'll also throw the rack I have up there too.

I need to be able to set up fast, because my "camping" will be just to sleep and eat, and all my other time will be on the water fishing.

My Personal Pilgrimage

So I was listening to NPR this morning and they were speaking about a new movie coming out with Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez. It is about a father who losses his son, so to connect with his lost child he takes a 500 mile pilgrimage on foot with only his sons back pack. The narrator described the term "Pilgrimage" as "travel that changes those who partake in it, being open to let the trip change you for the better and to come to a new understanding about oneself." I though Huh, yeah...pilgrimige. I imediately though of this web site and how it has changed my views on "wheelin" and how all I ever wanted was the road and not the destination. How I am building this truck to get back home-ARIZONA, and to spend the rest of my life on my personal pilgrimage bumming around the great south west. Letting the road, its people and all its splender root deep in my soul. And in the end become one with the ancient land while teaching my children what is important in this world.
So here is my means of travel I can only hope that it comes together, and I can bring my family back to were our hearts are.

More pics and updates

So here is the break down so far:

$500-Paid for the truck
-$300-Sold tires and rims
-$25- Sold WARN hubs
-$3.00 change an lottery ticket found while cleaning
So I have $172.00 that I actually have paid for the truck so far. Not a bad start.
